On the evening of November 28, the five members of the South Korean girl group NewJeans—Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein—suddenly held an emergency press conference to announce their official departure from ADOR. Explaining their reason for leaving, they stated: “The reason is very simple: ADOR has shown no willingness or ability to protect NewJeans.”

According to a report by Koreanboo, NewJeans held the emergency press conference to officially announce the termination of their contract with ADOR, which will take effect the following day. Newgenes had previously sent a formal notice to ADOR demanding that the company address six major violations within 14 days or face termination of the contract. But so far there has been no progress in this matter.

The members of NewJeans also stated that ADOR had repeatedly breached the contract in the past. Despite issuing the formal notice, their demands have not been met, and the company’s responses have been purely superficial, showing no genuine sincerity.

The members stated that the reason for leaving ADOR is very simple: despite being responsible for protecting their artists, the company has shown neither the willingness nor the ability to do so. They felt that this collaboration only brought pain and wasted their time. “The five of us have unanimously decided that, starting from midnight on the 29th, we will officially terminate our exclusive contract with ADOR.”

However, they also assured that all previously scheduled activities and events will proceed as planned, as they do not wish for contractual issues to affect others. Additionally, they mentioned the possibility that they may not be able to use the name NewJeans in the future. Nonetheless, they emphasized that they will not give up the name easily and will do their best to secure the rights to use it.

On the other hand, in response to NewJeans’ emergency press release, ADOR stressed that they had not violated any of the agreements. and confirmed that the contract between the two parties is still valid. They also regretted the situation: “Unfortunately, instead of meeting with us to discuss the matter, This matter, they chose to hold an emergency press conference to announce the completion of the operation.” It is

ADOR reiterated that they had not breached the contract and argued that a “unilateral claim of broken trust” is not a legitimate reason to invalidate the agreement. They expressed their hope that NewJeans would continue to collaborate with ADOR as before to plan future activities. Additionally, ADOR stated they remain open-minded and are willing to engage in deeper conversations with the members.
